About me

Willliam Legue, Cybersecurity professional, Home brewer and craft beer enthusiast, Musician, Gamer, and father.

I have been an IT hobbyist for most of my life, but really I’m just a hobbyist for just about anything that peaks my interest. I have the tendency to dive into interests head first and try to learn everything about it. It started with music, I was a professional musician for the better part of a decade before shifting focus and breaking into cybersecurity.

I used my skills in IT to help fund my musical pursuits until I decided to join the US Army as a musician. Thankfully, the US military pays for 100% of education while serving and I was able to get a Bachelors of Science in Cybersecurity from the University of Maryland Global Campus.

After graduating and leaving the military, I landed at a great cybersecurity startup as a SOC analyst. Since then I have worn a few hats from specializing in network forensics, working as a consultant, and now getting the chance to research and build detections for our SOC.

I currently hold several GIAC certifications; GPYC, GNFA, and GCIH.

Nowadays you can find me spending time with my family, studying or researching into some new and interesting tech, or putting together a beer recipe because nobody is selling something I want to drink.
